PHUKET, Thailand — Two of the most recognizable names in combat sports are heading to paradise.
On Sunday, June 1, Jorge Masvidal and Yoel Romero will host an exclusive three-hour seminar at Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA in Phuket, Thailand—giving fans and martial artists a rare opportunity to learn directly from two legends of the game.
The seminar runs from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and is split into two parts:
Masvidal, the UFC veteran and king of the “BMF” era, will lead the striking portion, sharing the boxing techniques and fight IQ that made him one of the most dangerous welterweights of his era. Then, Romero—an Olympic silver medalist and one of the most explosive wrestlers in MMA history—will take over, leading a wrestling segment rooted in world-class fundamentals and brutal efficiency.
Following the seminar, attendees will have a chance for photos with both fighters.
Masvidal retired in 2023 after a 52-fight professional career that spanned promotions like Strikeforce and the UFC. He holds the record for the fastest knockout in UFC history, courtesy of a flying knee that sent Ben Askren to the canvas in five seconds.
Romero, now competing under the Bellator banner, is widely considered one of the most athletic middleweights in MMA history. With a deep Olympic wrestling pedigree and knockout power to match, Romero remains a puzzle few have ever solved.
The seminar adds to Bangtao’s growing list of elite training experiences, following recent appearances by Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, and Zhang Weili. The Phuket-based gym continues to cement itself as a global destination for fighters and fans alike.
