Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA will welcome one of the most feared and respected figures in Muay Thai history, Sagat Petchyindee, for a week-long guest coaching residency from January 11 to January 18, 2026, culminating in an exclusive seminar on Saturday, January 17.
A true legend of Thailand’s golden era, Sagat Petchyindee built his reputation as one of the most dominant knockout artists the sport has ever seen. Over a professional career spanning more than three decades, Sagat competed in more than 300 bouts, earning multiple championship titles at both Lumpinee Stadium and Rajadamnern Stadium, along with world titles in Muay Thai and kickboxing. Renowned for relentless pressure, devastating power, and uncompromising fighting style, he remains one of the most influential figures in the sport’s history.
Beyond his competitive accolades, Sagat’s legacy extends into global pop culture. He is widely regarded as one of the real-life inspirations behind the iconic “Emperor of Muay Thai” character in the Street Fighter video game series—a crossover that helped introduce Muay Thai to new audiences long before the sport’s modern boom. While unofficial, the association has become part of combat sports lore, reinforcing Sagat’s impact both inside and outside the ring.
During his week at Bangtao, Sagat will serve as a guest coach, working alongside Bangtao’s coaching staff and sharing technical insight shaped by decades at the highest levels of competition. He will also be available for private training sessions, offering students rare, direct access to one of Muay Thai’s most formidable champions.
The highlight of the residency will be a two-hour seminar on Saturday, January 17, giving participants an opportunity to learn directly from Sagat’s approach to striking, pressure fighting, and the mindset needed to succeed at elite stadium level.
